Week 22 - Food Steward
Workout Log
This week, I ran 10 km once, but my legs felt a bit strained, so I switched to swimming afterward. The weather has been perfect for running lately, so I was happy while running the 10km. I really do love running.
When I first learned to swim, I used to enjoy it no matter how much I did, but these days, swimming isn’t that much fun anymore. It’s just a good workout for when it’s hot outside. Still, it has so many benefits that I enjoy doing it. (It’s relatively easy on the joints, I can hop in and out of the pool after a shower, and it’s a cool way to exercise when it’s too hot in the summer, etc.)
Honeysuckle
I’m growing a plant for the first time in my life. Its name is Hibiscus. I brought it home when I visited a botanical garden. The only reason I chose this one is because its orange petals are pretty. I have a particular fondness for orange flowers.
But this little friend is growing at an extraordinary rate. Even though it gets plenty of sunlight, I’ve never seen a plant grow this much from one day to the next. I wonder if other flowers and plants are like this too. It’s a plant that really makes growing it fun. It’s growing so well that I’m wondering if I should move it to a bigger pot.
I’ve heard the petals are edible, but… hmm… for some reason, I don’t feel like eating them. I don’t think they’d taste good either.
CKA
I’ve started studying for the CKA and CKAD certifications I purchased during last year’s Cyber Monday. I’m planning to spend a total of three months preparing for them: two months for CKA and one month for CKAD.
I plan to spend about two weeks taking a well-known CKA course, and after that, I’ll prepare by doing hands-on practice. Consistently. I won’t try to absorb all the knowledge at once; instead, I’ll acquire it slowly. Since I tend to be overly ambitious, I need to consciously remind myself of this so I can digest the knowledge gradually.
LeetCode
I recently started working on algorithms again. As AI-driven code generation has become mainstream, the amount of time I spend writing code myself has decreased significantly, but I’m rediscovering the joy of writing code from scratch that I had forgotten. Also, for some reason, when I start my day by solving algorithms, I feel like my brain is working a little better. It feels like my brain is warming up.
I’m trying to solve at least one problem a day, and if I have the time, I plan to participate in the weekly contests as well.
Hermes Agent
I’ve built my own “personal assistant infrastructure” using Hermes Agent, Obsidian, and Syncthing. What I like most is that Syncthing lets me collaborate with a remote Hermes Agent by viewing each other’s edited Markdown files in real time. I should write a blog post about how I set this up.
